🌎 Where Does Your Coffee Come From?

Did you know that Brazil produces about 40% of the world’s green coffee beans?

That's a huge percentage of the coffee production, right?! When you do the research on global coffee production and ask what climate is the best suited for coffee growth, Brazil is by far one of or even the best place to grow coffee.

I've never been to Brazil. The furthest south, from New York, I've gone is Mexico City, Mexico. I encountered many coffee shops down there while I was in a cross-cultural trip for college. I experienced some rich moments in the communities I lived in. Coffee was a part of their community just like Brazil. I enjoyed coffee while out at the restaurants with friends and I often saw family members taking siestas together and sipping on coffee. I think I fell in love with coffee even more because it seemed to bring many people together despite their differences and cultural upbringings.

There are some wonderful Mexican coffee farmers in more of the southern parts of Mexico, but did you know, for over 150 years, Brazil has been the world’s top coffee producer, thanks to its ideal climate and vast coffee farms. But the coffee industry is always evolving. Climate shifts, rising costs, and new sustainability efforts are shaping the future of global coffee. Recently we learned about one exciting trend about Brazil. Brazil’s push toward specialty-grade coffee, bringing higher quality and even more unique flavors to your cup is on the up rise and we can't wait to see this come to life even more in the United States.

I'm curious on your travels as you read where I have been. Have you been to Mexico or Brazil? Have you tried coffee in Paris? I did that too in 2010. Paris is everything you can imagine too.

Happy Sipping,

Jenelle
