We’re not even through March yet, and maybe some of those ambitious New Year’s resolutions are already slipping away. Did I mention, I hate calling them New Years Revolutions? If you’re feeling like you’ve fallen short on your goals, you’re not alone. But here’s the thing—failure is a part of life, and it doesn’t define you. What matters is that you keep moving forward, keeping your goals in mind and making progress in any way you can. The key to moving forward though is to acknowledge the failure and sit with it. If you ignore the failure, then you simply don't grow. It's like sweeping it under the rug. The stuff is still there under the rug. However, if you deal with the mess under the rug, you ultimately remove it and learn from the failure to move on.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on this as I finished two books and started a new one: Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara. This book has been an eye-opener, shifting my perspective on business, customer service, and the adventures we’re taking at Good Grounds Coffee Co. It’s a reminder that great businesses aren’t just built on good products but on exceptional experiences and meaningful connections.
Reading this book has reinforced the idea that setbacks are just stepping stones. Sometimes, things don’t go as planned, and that’s okay. What’s important is adjusting, learning, and continuing the journey with a clearer vision.
So whether you’re behind on a goal, questioning your progress, or feeling like you’ve failed already this year—don’t let it stop you. Keep pushing forward, embrace the lessons, and trust that each step brings you closer to where you want to be.
At Good Grounds, we believe in growth, resilience, and the power of a good cup of coffee to fuel the journey. Let’s keep moving forward together.
Here’s to learning, evolving, and chasing goals—one sip at a time.
Cheers,
Jenelle
